Emergency Solar Management (ESM)

ESM lets the system operator curtail exports in rare grid conditions to keep the network stable. For new or upgraded systems, agreeing to ESM is often part of connection.

What ESM does (and doesn't do)

• It does limit exports temporarily when directed.
• It doesn't drain your battery for no reason, nor does it operate every week.
• It coexists with VPP participation, and both aim to keep grids reliable.

Ask your installer how ESM is configured on your inverter and what you'll see in the app during an event.
