Verdict up front: GoodWe builds the whole system. Inverter, battery and monitoring app come from one maker, and in September 2026 its installed estimates sat below the market average per kWh. Both home batteries, the Lynx Home F and the all-in-one ESA, use LFP cells with 10-year product and performance warranties. The right inverter model puts either within reach of the WA rebate. The costs are lock-in to GoodWe hardware and a recall history on some of its inverters, though not on either battery.
The catch. GoodWe's recalls cover certain inverter models. Your installer should check the exact inverter model and its firmware version against the current ACCC recall list before the system is switched on.

Buying the hybrid inverter, the battery and the SEMS monitoring app from one maker means a fault goes through one manufacturer's warranty process rather than two.

Synergy customers get $130 per usable kWh under the WA Residential Battery Scheme, up to $1,300, on a battery of at least 5 kWh usable. In September 2026, every current Lynx Home F and ESA module was on the Clean Energy Council list. The inverter is what to check. It must be on Synergy's Supported Solutions List, and the household must join a virtual power plant (VPP), which lets Synergy draw on the battery at set times.
For a Lynx Home F, the paired GoodWe hybrid is the one to check. On an ESA it is the power module. Lists change. Ask the installer to show the listing for the exact model on your quote.

Both batteries carry a 10-year product warranty and a 10-year performance warranty that guarantees 70% of usable energy. The Lynx Home F allows 3.65 MWh of throughput per usable kWh, enough for one full cycle a day across all 10 years. The ESA allows 3.0 MWh per usable kWh. At one full cycle a day, that runs out after about 8.2 years.
The Lynx Home F terms also set conditions: the battery must stay connected to the internet for monitoring, sit out of direct sunlight, and have any extra modules added within its first year. Both battery warranties exclude coastal exposure unless GoodWe approves the site in writing.
Your consumer guarantees under Australian Consumer Law apply automatically, and GoodWe's warranties add to them without removing them.
Lock-in is the main cost. A Lynx Home F needs a GoodWe hybrid, and an ESA replaces your inverter outright, so neither suits a home keeping another brand's inverter. The ESA has only been on sale here since late 2025; ask any installer how many they have fitted. Run the eight brand checks on this product before you pay more for any name on the shortlist.
A budget-aware household happy to run a single-brand system gets the most from GoodWe: a Lynx Home F on a garage floor beside an existing GoodWe hybrid, or an ESA on an outside wall for a new build where backup is part of the brief.
