The Sungrow SBR series is built to pair with the company's SH series hybrid inverters. The matched battery-inverter combination delivers up to 98% DC-side efficiency. The series scales from 9.6kWh (3 modules) to 25.6kWh (8 modules) using 3.2kWh modules. The modules are larger than BYD's, which means fewer connections for equivalent capacity. The high-voltage design (256-384V) reduces conversion losses. Pricing is the main draw. The SBR delivers performance comparable to established brands at a lower price point. Sungrow holds a 100% bankability rating from BloombergNEF, which adds financial reassurance. The iSolarCloud platform handles monitoring. The WA Battery Scheme pays $130 per kWh on the first 10 kWh, capped at $1,300. Capacities under 5 kWh receive nothing, and every capacity from 10 kWh up receives the same $1,300 — a larger battery does not earn a larger rebate. Whether a particular product qualifies also depends on it being Synergy-approved. “Over the cap” does not mean you should not buy it — the extra capacity is simply at full price.
