The WA Battery Scheme pays $130 per kWh on the first 10 kWh, capped at $1,300. Capacities under 5 kWh receive nothing, and every capacity from 10 kWh up receives the same $1,300 — a larger battery does not earn a larger rebate. Whether a particular product qualifies also depends on it being Synergy-approved.

The Red Earth Troppo is an Australian-designed battery system built for Australian climate and grid conditions. Designed and supported from Red Earth's Brisbane headquarters, the Troppo includes enhanced thermal management for temperatures up to 55°C and IP65 weatherproofing as standard. As an AC-coupled system, the Troppo works with a wide range of battery inverters, including Victron, Selectronic, and SMA. That suits retrofit installations where the existing solar inverter is retained. Modular 5.12kWh blocks scale from 5.12kWh to 20.48kWh. Red Earth is one of the few Australian-owned battery companies. Design, testing, and customer support are all handled locally, with direct access to Australian-based technicians through the company's Australian phone support. For Perth installations, the enhanced thermal management and IP65 rating suit outdoor mounting in WA conditions. The AC-coupled architecture suits homes retrofitting storage to existing solar. The trade-offs are higher pricing per kWh compared with Chinese-manufactured alternatives, and a smaller installer network.
