How the 3,478 CEC-listed battery models break down today, by manufacturer and usable capacity.
Counts reflect every model on the CEC battery register, including multiple capacity variants per series — many manufacturers list several capacity options under one series.
From 1 May 2026, CSIP-AUS compliance (IEEE 2030.5) and Synergy SSL listing are mandatory for WA Battery Scheme eligibility. CEC approval alone is no longer enough to qualify a battery for the WA rebate.
Synergy Battery Rewards pays 70¢/kWh during VPP activation events, which favours VPP-compatible equipment over models that only meet the older CEC baseline.
Listing rates tend to track rebate announcements, new safety standards, and manufacturer market entries. The WA Battery Scheme and the May 2026 CSIP-AUS requirement are the current drivers of new SSL-listed model registrations.
Brands that enter the market alongside a new rebate do not always stay. Australia's earlier solar-panel rollout saw many short-lived brands exit within a few years of listing, leaving owners without local warranty support. Manufacturer tenure on the CEC register is a useful proxy for that risk.
